Two outstanding wildlife education seminars are scheduled at WildLife 2010 on Saturday, June 26, as part of the Texas Wildlife Association convention and 25th Annivsersay celebration.
Painting commemorates TWA 25th Anniversary celebrationA special watercolor painting titled "Texas Oasis" by Rockport artist Herb Booth commemorates the 25th Anniversary of the Texas Wildlife Association, and TWA members and supporters can purchase the original artwork and signed, limited-edition prints in honor of the historic occasion.Teacher to be recognized for natural resources educationThe Texas Wildlife Association Foundation and San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. announce the opportunity for two deserving area teachers to be recognized for their contributions and earn a financial award for their school in the amount of $2,500. This $2,500 school “scholarship” will be awarded to each school in recognition of the winning teachers’ use of innovative techniques and curricula to promote natural resource literacy among their students.
Langford selected for inaugural Keystone Award
In recognition of his lifetime of service protecting our agricultural heritage and conserving native wildlife, wildlife habitat, and natural lands in Texas, Langford will receive the inaugural Keystone Award at a reception held at Becker Vineyards in Stonewall, Texas, from 5 -7 p.m., Friday, February 26th. The event opens the 7th Farm & Range Forum, which continues with a full-day program in Fredericksburg, Texas, on the 27th. TWA welcomes Hollimon to Conservation Legacy teamThe Texas Wildlife Association is proud to welcome Courtney Hollimon to the She is a San Antonio native and graduated from Tulane University in 2001 with a degree in Environmental Studies and Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. Courtney grew up with “TWA on the coffee table” and is passionate about TWA’s mission. Hollimon’s primary responsibility will be the design and implementation of high-quality adult educational ventures (workshops, field days, symposia, etc.). She will work closely with TWA members and its partners to meet the educational needs of landowners, land managers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Courtney will also assist the Conservation Legacy team with youth and outreach educational programming, as well as working with all TWA members and staff to recruit new TWA members and build regional teams.
