Klussmans Recognized for Contribution to TWA and Texas Youth Hunting Program
Dr. Wallace Klussman is known as the founder of the Texas Youth Hunting Program, a program founded in 1998 after many years of effort to convince former Texas Parks & Wildlife Executive Director Robert Cook such a program was needed. Since that time, TYHP has become a highly successful partnership between TPWD and TWA, and is known throughout the US as the premiere model for introducing youth and their parents to hunting in Texas.
In recognition of his service and Mrs. Klussman's support of her husband, they were honored with the naming of the Wallace and Dolores Klussman Cave Creek WMA Super Hunt. This is the largest youth hunting event in Texas with 15 or more landowners of the Cave Creek Wildlife Management Association opening their gates to TYHP on special youth weekend in January. January 17 - 19, 2020, will mark the 17th annual Super Hunt and will host over 55 youth and their accompanying parent or adult guardian. For more information, visit Texas Youth Hunting Program.
