New Batch of B&C Scorers in Texas
Last week, a group of 26 Texans were certified as Official Measurers for the Boone and Crockett Club after completing an intense training program at the Lee and Ramona Bass Conference Building located on the Kerr Wildlife Management Area near Hunt, TX. The group was made up of Texas Parks and Wildlife biologists, private land managers and TWA staff members. The broad geographic distribution of the attendees will allow for much better data collection for the Boone and Crockett Club and will also increase the efficiency of the Texas Big Game Awards scoring process.
The Boone and Crockett Club was founded in 1887 by Theodore Roosevelt along with a small group of hunter/conservationists concerned about the dwindling wildlife resources they were experiencing. Today, the club maintains their philosophies of sound habitat management and fair chase hunting.
