Tina Buford Named to Governor’s Commission for Women
Texas Wildlife Association is proud to recognize that our very own Executive Committee Member and President of Texas Wildlife Association Foundation, Tina Yturria Buford, has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbot to the Governor’s Commission for Women. The Governor's Commission for Women serves as a liaison between Texas women and government agencies, as well as private entities addressing women's needs. The Commission helps women identify information and services best suited to their needs, and will be focusing on areas such as education through STEM, women-owned businesses and women and children’s health.
“Texas Wildlife Association congratulates Tina on her appointment to such an important Commission. She has been a tireless advocate for educating young Texans about the value of wild places and wild things, and how uniquely dependent they are on private land stewardship here in the great state of Texas. We are very proud to have one of our key volunteer leaders selected for service by Governor Abbott. We know she will be a tremendous asset to the Commission for Women.” said David Yeates, TWA Chief Executive Officer.
TWA’s mission is to serve Texas wildlife and its habitat, while protecting property rights, our hunting heritage, and the conservation efforts of those who value and steward wildlife resources. Tina has been a champion of this mission and continues to be instrumental in Texas Wildlife Association initiatives that reached over 500,000 people last year alone. We look forward to the impact she will make as a member of the Commission for Women, as well as her continued leadership and support of Texas Wildlife Association.
