Water is essential to sustaining Texas lands, ecosystems, and wildlife populations, as well as ranching and agricultural interests that sustain both urban and rural communities across the state. TWA provides programs and resources that advocate for a pragmatic, balanced approach to wetlands management and water use, marked by a stewardship that promotes accountable conservation of this vital resource.
Participants can expect a 1-to-3-day field day experience with a group of mentors and natural resource experts on private land. Each expedition will be themed. For example, you might apply for an expedition that is focused on ornithology and birding, water ecology and angler education, photography in nature, entomology, herpetology, and more.
The pricing for events are as follows:
Yes, although each expedition will have limited space available, we would love to provide opportunities to families to experience these events together. Each additional family member will require an additional $25 fee per day in order to attend if there is space available at an event. (Example: $25 for a 1-day experience, $50 for a 2-day experience, $75 for a 3-day experience)
Yes, in order to appreciate the full experience of a Land, Water & Wildlife Expedition, we do require that families stay for the entirety of the event.
Participants will need to bring the following:
No, all meals and drinks will be provided. You are always welcome to bring additional food and drinks to accommodate yourself as needed. We encourage families to bring a reusable mug and water bottle to use throughout the event.
While not all of our expeditions are multiple days, some of our expeditions will require participants to tent-camp. If the landowner has lodging facilities available and is willing to let us use them, we will make use of them when and where we can.
Participants must be 9-17 years of age.

Selected participants will be notified approximately one month prior to the event.
Applying for multiple expeditions and being flexible on travel distance will improve your chances of being selected.
Yes, refunds will be issued if a participant cancels at least one week prior to the event.
