Women of the Land workshop coming to Richmond

The Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) and the James B. Harrison Foundation are partnering to host Women of the Land, a workshop designed to encourage women to become active land managers and conservationists. The April 12 event, slated for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. emphasizes skill-based outdoor recreation, learning by doing, and forging relationships with conservation professionals and peers.

The workshop will take place at the Harrison-Long Point Ranch in Richmond, which is owned by
the James B. Harrison Foundation. Topics include small acreage and backyard wildscapes, prescribed fire as a land management tool, a heavy machinery demonstration, plant identification and management, and more.

Registration is $40 for one or $70 for two and includes lunch plus snacks and refreshments. Visit to register.
